I Mustache You a Question - Boy's Rule - Tutorial - Kaisercraft

Hi there!

It's my turn to share a project on the Boy's Rule blog today, and I have been asked to add some instructions, too.  So let's get started with a picture of the finished project....

Start out by adding some mist to the background of your layout (I usually do this at the end, but most do it at the beginning and it is certainly less risky that way).

Now let's get started with cutting papers.  .....
-cut the green clock paper down to 3.5" x 7"
-cut beige 'Charming" to 6" x  12" , then tear down the right hand side of this piece at about the 7.5"-8" mark
-cut the multi coloured strip down to 2.5" x 8" and punch along the lower edge................  This is the only time I will mention this - if you are an inker (like me) - go ahead and add it, if not that's cool too.  Now, you can start layering these pieces up as you see in the photo.  when I am in the fussing phase of a layout I often only put adhesive in the centre of each piece, sort of holding it in place while still allowing me to tuck in bits and bobs, as I think they are needed.  So I suggest you do the same for this layout.

Now fine the little black and white journaling card with this gentleman on it, and tuck it in behind the beige paper.  I cut it in half, so I can use the half that would be hidden in another project.

Next up grab that cool old car, die cut sticker strip and neatly trim off one of the cars and layer it over the multi coloured stripe strip of paper.

Now add your photograph, again putting adhesive only in the centre.  Then tuck in the journaling card shown behind the photo.

Now let's work on the upper corner.  Create a large banner piece that measures about 2 1/8th x 3, and add some doodling .  Cut and tear a piece of the red and beige striped paper to measure 3.5' x 1', ad it over the large banner and tuck in 5 small banner stickers behind it.  Now the little hats strip was cut off the bottom of a patterned paper, and staple on.  Pop dot one of your little mustaches.

Lastly, let's work on the title.  The mustache was cut from Silhouette cut file given to all subscribers.  Cut it at about 5" wide and 1.5" tall, add some doodling and pop dot it onto your layout.  Use the alpha stickers in your kit to create the rest of the title.

And that's it, you have completed one more layout for  your alpha!  Yay!

Valentine Chain - ScrapMuch? Tutorial

Hi there1

I have a quick tutorial up on the ScrapMuch? blog this week, a great Valentine craft to make with the kiddies.... a little knock off on the Christmas paper chain.  I found this idea on Pinterest.

First gather up your supplies, you will need 1 sheet of 12 x 12 paper cut down into 1x6 strips and a stapler.  (Of course, you can make this longer if you wish.)
Take 2 strips of paper and staple at the bottom.
Now roll the top into the centre and insert 2 more pieces of paper into it, and staple (where my thumb is).
Continue on until you get something like this.  That's it as easy as that.... some short one handing from the chandelier would be fun and longer ones swagged along the top of draperies, too.

You are My Happy - Creative Scrappers - My MInd's Eye

Hi there!

There is a new sketch up on the Creative Scrappers blog today, and it is my week to play along!  It is a fun sketch which incorporates a sunburst pattern, which I have been meaning to try for a while now.

Here is my take .....

I used some of my favourite MME products,  I am really loving the turquoise and yellow.  Yellow is my happy colour.

I layered up some washi, stickers and die cut stickers to give this corner some dimension.

I cut this title from my Silhouette, I am so loving it for it's flexibility, i have been spending quite a bit of time creating cut files from things I have seen online that inspire me.

I used a Studio Calico template / mask to create my star-burst pattern,  I was turned onto this by my scrappy friend Joanne , it is a great tool that takes the math out of the project!

And here is the sketch....

This week's sketch was created by Nicole Nowosad.  I love it!

Why don't you pop over to Creative Scrappers and see what the rest of Team A has created.... and stick around to play along, for your chance at winning this month's prize!

Chocolate + Tags = Happy Valentine's - for Whimsie Doodles

 Hi there!

I have a new project up on the Whimsie Doodles blog today.  I chose to play with these adorable Valentine gift tags!  I decided to wrap up a few chocolate bars for my boys for Valentine's Day, I printed them up a little larger so that they fit the front of a large chocolate bar nicely.  Being the Mom of all boys, I loved that there were a nice mixture of boys' and girls'  style images.

 Valentine,digi,gift tag,topper,school,kid,child

Here is a look at how they turned out....

Aren't they just darling?  I paired them up with a few die cuts and buttons and twine... pretty simple for my boys, but fun too!  Of course, they would make great school Valentine's but my college aged boys don't really have them out any more! tee hee  I love that I can even stick a gift card under the label, for their favourite coffee joint!

You can find this cutie and more great digis in the Whimsie Doodles Store!
Also don't forget to pop in daily to see what the rest of the DT is creating and remember it's not too late to play along with this month's challenge

Lollipop Tea Light - A ScrapMuch? Tutorial

Hi there!

I have a quick and fun little tutorial to share with you today, that I have up on the ScrapMuch? blog.  I saw this Lollipop Tea Light idea a few years ago, and have been waiting for just the right time to share it.

I think it will make a cute Valentine for your girl friends.

Let's get started.....

You will need a tea light candle, a sucker stick, a clear cellophane bag, ribbons, and washi tape.

Adhere the sucker stick to the back of the tea light candle with washi tape.

No wrap the candle with washi tape.  Now pop it into the bag, and the fun begins - you know the part where we make it pretty!

Tie on a tag, so you have somewhere to add a little message ( I created this one using my Silhouette).

Now for a die cut, and / or a button and some twine.

And it's all done and ready for gifting!  Wouldn't these also make fun shower favours!
