Enjoy the Journey - Pinspired Challenges

Hello there!

I had to give up my craft room this week,  my middle son decided it was time for his own room.  He and my oldest have enjoyed sharing a room for years now and in many cases chose to share a room even though it wasn't a necessity.  But at 21 and 23 they feel they need their own spaces.  And as we only have 4 bedrooms, I got the boot! lol

Luckily we have a very large family room so I spent two days hauling all of my craft stuff down there.  Of course there is always a domino effect and we have to rearrange a few other rooms to accommodate furniture changes.  The only negative thing about the family room as a craft space is that I will have to keep my area tidy.  Oh and the lighting sucks!  But that is easily fixable.

The whole time I was moving craft stuff, all I could think of is that I really wanted to be playing instead!  Lat night, at 10pm I finally managed to sit down (read stand, as I usually craft standing up) and create 3 cards, and one more this morning!

This is the only one I can share right now.  It was created for the current challenged over at Pinspired Challenges.....

I created this geo tag cut file on my Silhouette several weeks ago and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.
I used my Silhouette sketch pen for the first time today... loved it!
I was intending to keep this card clean and simple but I couldn't resit adding a bit extra to the top corner!

This is the challenge inspiration photo.  The vibrant folding chairs reminded me of a destination or celebration which is why I went with 'enjoy the journey' sentiment and geo tags.

This is my first time joining in with Pinspired Challenges, I love their challenges and keep trying to find the time... so glad I did this time, I love my card!

Inky Embossing Tutorial - ScrapMuch?

Hi there!

It's Wednesday and that means I am back with another tutorial.  This week I have something simple but very effective.

You will need an embossing folder, a water-based ink pad in any colour and some plain white cardstock.

Rub the ink pad all over the inside front of the embossing folder.
Now add your cardstock and run this through your Cuttlebug as you normally would.
This is what you get, isn't it pretty and unique!  You can create custom embossed papers for just about any project!
Clean up is easy too, just wipe the embossing folder with a baby wipe.  I like that a lot, I am all for easy clean up!

Isn't it a Party, Pool Party that is! - Fancy Pants

Hello there!

I am back again today to share some fun pool party themed crafts.  I have been playing / scrapping a lot lately with the Boardwalk collection by Fancy Pants and it has gotten me into the mood for a pool or beach party.  So I took a break from layout creating to make these little goodies!

Isn't this a fun mix of party treats!
Unfortunately, I only had an empty pop bottle on hand, but you get the gist and I  can easily swap out my 'label' onto a fresh bottle.
I love these treat tubes (honestly I hoard them because I love them so!)  filled with my favourite treat they look so pretty all dolled up!  I am loving the rub-ons and stickers on my label.

Glassine bags are great for more awkward shaped treats or combining a variety of goodies.  They are also just perfect to envelope bulky cards when you are 'handing' them to the recipient.

Isn't this lolly wrap fun?  A simple way to doll up a sucker and give it some pizzazz!

I love the way this paint can treat holder came together... with a bit of paper, twine, rub-ons, flags and flair it is so sweet.

And lastly a card for the party girl / boy!  Lots of Silhouette cutting on this one to give it a beach tropical look!

Thanks for visiting me again today!

Tiddly Inks had this sweet image up for a freebie and it meant I could play with their current challenge, double bonus!  All you have to do to play along is use a Wryn!

This is what I created....

Isn't this image just too darling!  I kept my card pretty clean and fresh just like her bouquet!
This is my first time entering at Tiddly Inks, and I am hoping to play along more often.

Beautiful Haiti - Canadian Scrapbooker Sketch - Fancy Pants

Hi there!

This past weekend I attended 2 crops and got quite a few pages done!  This page features photos from a recent cruise and utilizes a sketch from Canadian Scrapbooker.  Have a look....

We stopped at 4 ports during our cruise, and Haiti was the most beautiful by far.
This sketch suggested a really large journaling space which was just perfect for me.

I purchased a whole lot of this collection by Fancy Pants to scrap my entire cruise.  I am loving that I am getting many different looks out of the same colleciton.

Here is the sketch.....

You're a Lifesaver - Whimsie Doodles

Hello there!

I have a project up on the Whimsie Doodles blog today. I love this little image, it is perfect for whenever you need a very special thank you card.

When I saw this cutie in the Whimsie Doodles Store, I couldn't wait to play.  And although colouring with red intimidates me I was happy for the excuse to do something bright!

Hello My Friend - Aud Sentiments

Hi there!

Aud Sentiments has a brand new challenge up today. We are challenging you to create a card with a sentiment that includes the word 'friend'.   As always we have a fantastic sponsor, Stamp Art Design by Kathryne,  offering a great prize!

The some of the DT got to play with an image from the sponsor, and otheres played with images from Whimsy Stamps!   I chose this one, from Whimsy Stamps because it makes me smile.  Have a look at what I created.....

Isn't he just the sweetest, I know I will love having him in my digi stamp collection. I worked on adding some 'fuzzy' texture to his fur and some 'movement' to his overalls.

Now it's your turn. This challenge will run until Tuesday, June 4th.

Why don't you hop on over to the Aud Sentiments site to see what the rest of the team has created.

Thanks for visiting!

Colouring Bling Tutorial - ScrapMuch?

Hi there!

I have a really fun and easy tutorial to share with you today.  All you need is some clear bling (singles, strips or flourishes it all works just fine) and some permanent markers - any kind will do!

Simply colour / scribble all over your bling in the colour of your choice, while it is still on the clear plastic packaging.
Most markers will give you great colour in one application with still maintaining the translucent quality of the bling .... so pretty isn't it and I never have purple bling on hand!

But some markers like this silver one is opaque and gives an almost burnished silver look, leaving it not so blingy.  I love that too - great for distressed boys pages!

See fun and easy!  Gotta love that!

Hats off to you and This Boy- Boys Rule

Hi there!

It's my turn to share a layout over on the Boys Rule blog today and this is what I created, using this month's fantastic kit featuring Fancy Pant's Swagger collection.

I had a little fun playing with the digital stamp that I created to coordinate with this kit.  I used my W00 Copic to add a bit of shadowing.

I also created this layout, to add to an album I put together for my nephew to give to his Mom (my sister) for Mother's Day.

I used a sketch designed by Joanne of I Love Sketches to jump start the inspiration process.

Thanks for visiting!  Don't forget to pop on over to the the Boys Rule blog to see what the rest of the DT is up to.
