T'is the Season - ScrapMuch? - My Mind's Eye

Hi there!

I wanted to share a couple of layouts that I created for a class over at ScrapMuch?.....

I am still totally in love with this collection!  These layouts were designed to coordinate together, but of course make great stand alone pages, as well.

Last time I checked there were still a couple of the single page layout kits available, email scrapmuch@rogers.com if you are interested in getting a kit.

Folded Circles Faux Ruffle Tutorial - Boys Rule

Hi there!

I have a tutorial up on the Boys Rule site today, check it out.....

To demonstrate this technique I will be creating a card, but of course you can apply this technique to any project.

I am using a 1 inch circle punch to punch several circles out of double sided patterned paper.
Now score each circle at 1/4 and 3/4 inches.
You should end up with several of these.
Next I will prep my card front, adhering two designs of patterned paper together.
Next I will begin laying down my scored circles, butting the scored edges up against each other, along the seam of the two patterns.
Wrap the last 1/4 inch of each circle around  the back of the prepped card front.

Now pierce stitching holes along the centre of  the circles, across the entire width of the card.
 Add some stitching.
Next add your piece to a card base and then embellish the front.
As you can see this is just another fun and easy way to add a bit of dimension and fun factor to your page.

Calendar

Hi there!

I wanted to pop in and share this calendar class / kit that I created for the recent fall retreat held by ScrapMuch?  .

There are still a few kits left, and they are super easy to assemble.  All of the cutting has been done for you (even the base pages), you just need to adhere the elements.  You can order one by emailing ScrapMuch? at scrapmuch@rogers.com.

The calendars are for 2014, but you could easily print new calendars each year to change out the existing ones.

Need a hug - Whimsie Doodles

Hi there!

It is my turn to post over on the Whimsie Doodles blog, I had fun with this sweet new image, found here in the shop,  I decided to use her make a friend card.

Sadly, this is my very last post with the Whimsie Doodles team, and I will miss being a part of this fab group and playing with these sweet images, but I feel I need to lighten my 'to do' list a little bit.

Summer Fun - Let's Get Sketchy - American Crafts

Hi there!

Happy Monday!  It's my team's turn to create over at Let's Get Sketchy this week, and I am here to share my layout with you!

These photos are sooo retro, taken way back in the early, early 90's that wee little boy in my arms turned 22 earlier this month!  I used some vibrant American Crafts papers as a nod to the bright jewel tones popular in the era.

And here is the fab sketch created by Let's Get Sketchy sketch artist Tabitha Triplett.

Now it's your turn, pop on over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog to see what the rest of the 'Team B'  DT created and link up your take on the sketch for your chance at this month's prize!

DHS - My Mind's Eye

Hi there!

I have one last share for the day, I decided to play along with the MME Sketch challenge while I was at a Pizza crop Friday night.

I had a little bit of this Cut & Paste line left from some previous projects and thought it worked perfectly with this photo.

I cut this large geo tag out of one of the patterned papers.

The alphas are some really old one I had kicking around but worked well with this colour scheme
.
Love the embellies with this line!

Here is a look at the sketch, if you ant to play.

a holiday card for my love

Hi there,

I have another share today, this holiday card that I created for my love.

I am linking it up at The Paper Shelter, anything goes challenge, and at Fusion Card Challenge, where I used both the inspiration photo and sketch to create my card.  (If you are interested they are having a DT call at Fusion Card Challenge.  I am not applying but thought I would pass on the info.

Have a great day!

Peppermint Body Scrub

Hi there!

Are you looking for a last minute handmade gift item?  I wanted to give a gift to some sweet friends of mine, and I wanted it to be handmade.  After doing some surfing of the www, this is what I came up with.....

The body scrub smells great, leaves your skin smooth and soft and it could even be edible if you were so inclined! ha!

To create this, blend 2 cups of sugar with  1/4 of light oil, like grape seed or almond oil.  Add Peppermint Extract to desired scent.  And mix well,  you will need to keep adding oil a bit at a time until  you achieve a smooth but still grainy consistency.  You do not want to saturate the sugar.  It is not hard and you will see what I mean as you blend.  Then divide into two portions and colour half with red food colouring.  Layer into a jar, as shown.  This has a 2 month shelf life, but it probably will not be around that long!

I created this print and cut tag in my Silhouette software.

Santa Please Stop Here

Hi there!

I thought I would share this altered frame I made for our holiday decor using some Teresa Collins paper, my Silhouette and some older holiday embellishments.
