Super Star ~ Fancy Pants

Hi there!

Yesterday I was trying to catch up on my blog reading and as I was reading my scrappy friend Cathy Harper's blog I was checking out her fantastic layout that she posted and noticed it was based on a sketch by Jenny Evans for Fancy Pants Designs.  Well both Cathy's page and the sketch were super inspiring and I felt the need to play along, one more just for fun layout is always a good thing, right?

I received a lot of Fancy Pants Be Different goodies in my latest Boys Rule Kit Club kit but I had already created about 8 projects with it, so I was sure I had much left.  I dug deep into my scraps and found enough to create a page based on the sketch, between my Be different scraps and some Trendsetter scraps.  Which is fantastic.  However, nothing went smoothly last night when I scrapped, mu Silhouette wouldn't cut nicely and jumped, I changed to a new mat and blade, but the new blade wouldn't cut at all. My sewing machine lagged.  I almost gave us and went to bed, but I am no quitter!  Finally, just before 2am I pulled this page together.

Please don't tell me you hate it after all of that hullabaloo! lol

Fancy Pants is asking that you share pages created with this sketch on their Facebook page here.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Awesome Kid - Boys Rule - Layout, Cut File and Tutorial

Hi there!

I am loading you up with goodies today, I have been creating for the Boys Rule Kit Club, with the amazing May / June kit and just loving every minute of it!

I made this layout to share:

I am having so much fun combining the fab Crate Paper Boys Rule goodies with the Fancy Pants Be Different line, they are just so perfect together!

Here are a few close ups:

I am also sharing the 'how to' directions for this page, in case you want to play along.

  1. trim down the Crate Paper 'Attaboy' patterned paper to 7.5 x 12, ink edges and adhere to the left side of the grey cardstock, with a staple in the top and bottom left-hand corners
  2. trim a .5 x 12 piece of the Fancy Pants 'Colorful Life' paper, ink and adhere over the seam of the 'Attaboy' paper and the grey cardstock
  3. trim the teal tag, striped tag and lined paper piece from the Crate Paper 'Cool Kid' patterned paper; ink the edges of all 3 pieces, punch a hole at the top of the 2 tags and tear the top of the lined paper piece; adhere these in layers behind your photo which should be placed  about 1.25 - 1.5 inches from  bottom and right-hand side edges (if you do not have your photo yet you can always quickly make a mat to hold your place)
  4. adhere smiley face toy (how fun is this) I used pop dots on mine
  5. ink and pop dot your title
  6. ink and adhere stickers as shown
  7. add doodling to tags
  8. add sequins as shown
And that's it a really quick and easy page for an awesome kid in your life!

Now I have a fun cut file for you!

A new use for a scallop punch - Tutorial

Hi there!

I have a punch tutorial up on the ScrapMuch? blog today.  It's been a while since I have played with mine so I thought I would do a little something different with them..  I will be sharing another punch technique in a couple of weeks.

Most of us have this Fiskars Treading Water punch, I think this was the first punch I ever purchased.  Anything similar with an open scallop will work just fine, though.  So go ahead and grab your punch and a scrap of cardstock.

Now punch along one edge.

And then go ahead and cut between the scallops to create these little tags like shapes.

Once you add your journalling and string them together, they will make a cute addition to your page and a fun way to incorporate your journalling onto your page.

And that's it, quick and easy!

Road Trip & What?? No Patterned Paper?? - Evalicious

Hi there!

I am up on the Evalicious blog today with a new project!  I think this is the first layout that I have ever created without using any patterned papers I had so much fun using mists, mask and stamps that I really didn't think that my page needed any.

I snapped these pictures during our first drive of the season up to our trailer, I have been meaning to make a page about this for quite a while now, the super cute Evalicious Road Trip stamp set finally got me going!

I chose a label from Hello 2014 SnipSnip labels, every stamp in the Road Trip clear stamp set and one from My Favourite Stamp set, badge buttons from Just Us V2 and Vintage Maps, puffy stickers from  Itinerary V1 and Itinerary V2, and an Arrow Love paper clip. to adorn my page.

Here are some close up shots:

This layout is completely different for me, I haven't stamped this much on a page before, yet I had so much fun creating it! I have already created my next share and it is a little different, too!  What do you think of the lack of patterned paper?  I love this page but I am a paper lover, too!

Thanks for visiting!  And don't forget to pop by the Evalicious blog to see what the rest of the team is up to!

Special Delivery - The Doodle Garden

Hi friends!

I am sharing a project for The Doodle Garden today! I coloured up this really cute image called "Special Delivery", it is a super sweet image that is just perfect for a new addition to the family, I love that it is gender neutral and suitable for births or adoptions!  Being a mom through both of these methods, this sort of thing really appeals to me:)  I decided to make this a little girl card as my last baby project was for a boy.

A here is a close up...

Isn't that image just darling!

Let's Party with Boys Rule - Fancy Pants

Hi there!

I am up on the Boys Rule blog today sharing this fun card and treat bag set using the May / June kit!

These were a lot of fun to whip up and came together in no time at all!

I cut out a treat bag topper with my Silhouette and added a few die cuts for a quick and easy loot bag. You cold also turn this into a fun little gift bag by tucking a gift card in with a few little treats.

For the card I added some sequins and a few small die cut arrows to one of the little clear bags in the kit, then I added a bit of patterned paper (well in this case a piece of the die cuts packaging that I recycled because it was so pretty and a shame to waste) inside the bag and behind the sequins.  It makes for a fun backdrop for the 'party animal' die cut.

Thank you for visiting today!

Keep Smilin' with The Doodle Garden

Hi friends!

I am sharing a project for The Doodle Garden today! I coloured up this really cute image called "Keep Smilin'", she is just a little ray of sunshine, which inspired my card base.  She actually reminds me of a little girl I know, who smiles even when life is tough.
