Today I am sharing the last two days in my December Daily album. I had originally thought that, like last year, I may continue on until the end of December but I am ready to put Christmas to bed for 2017.
I had a few stories that I wanted to add for the 24th, this first one documents our grandson and our youngest son decorating gingerbread cookies to leave for Santa.
I made a simple vellum tag with a Washi tape topper to add my Jillibean Soup corrugated numbers onto an envelope that I added as a bonus page. The envelope has a pretty inside (not that you can see it) and came with a fun card in it from my son for Christmas. I utilized a piece of embossed cardstock from my scrap bin to tuck into a pocket and layered the chipboard word "joy" on top of it.
The second story that I wanted to tell for the 24th, is all about our tradition of putting out a finger food buffet dinner and watching The Santa Clause movie. We have done this for many years now and all of the kids look forward to it. I didn't get a very good photo unfortunately, but I made do.
The pocket card documents the day and is one of my own creations. I added a cork heart and a bradz to embellish my photo and cover up some "ugly" stuff.
I cut down a pocket page to make one that is about 4x6 to hold another photo and this fun "definition" pocket card that I created. I embellished the front of it with some Washi tape and a long piece of chipboard.
On the back I added a piece of frufru ribbon, maybe a little too frufru for this album, but that's okay!
I also made this large half circle cut apart printable, just to have a different shape in my album.
I backed the back of the half circle printable with some pretty patterned paper from Echo Park. I included this tag, (which I made) that was on a gift I received from my youngest, in my album.
This is another printable cut apart that I made, I love the design of it. When I cut it too short, it left me with an opportunity to add some pretty sparkly silver Washi tape and a flair! I am using it to represent my "number" for the 25th.
On the back of the "25" page, I added a large photo of my grandson cheering after opening one of his presents from Santa. It is so cute! But a little busy, as most Christmas morning pictures are.
I added a tag that flips open, to read the journaling, to help cover up some of the business of the photo.
I also added the word "cards" with some Thickers to this envelope that I made back when I started this album.
It now holds the Christmas cards that we received from friends and family.
My last step was to tie a few jingle bells and a metal "w" to some twine to embellish the outside of my album I also added the year, using my label maker.
